Artists' Submission Guidelines
EXHIBITION
The California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP) is hosting its 7th statewide symposium at the Oakland Marriott Hotel & Convention Center in Oakland, California on September 24-25, 2010. The CBCRP invites you to submit your artwork for consideration in its exhibition, which brings the voices of individuals impacted by breast cancer to the forefront of the symposium. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, mixed media, installations, photography and video will be accepted. Hundreds of visitors (researchers, healthcare providers, advocates, breast cancer survivors, and the interested public) are in attendance at the symposium.
PRESENTATION
All work must be professionally presented, framed, and ready to hang with securely placed screw eyes and wire. Special installation works must be accompanied with detailed instructions, including a description of support materials and required equipment. The artist’s assistance may be required for intricate installations. The CBCRP reserves the right to refuse works that are not properly framed or presented. All submitted work must be appropriately and securely labeled with the artist’s name, street address, and phone number.
ENTRY INFORMATION

There is no fee to submit work for consideration. Work
must be submitted in one of three forms (1) JPEG digital images
saved onto a PC compatible CD (2) 35m slides or (3) for
video, a PC compatible DVD. Artists may submit no more than three works for
consideration. A maximum of two images are permitted for each 2-D (for detail)
and 3-D work entered. Works of art that are inconsistent with accepted submission, or works that are unsuitably framed, will be removed from
the exhibition.
JPEG images and Slides must be clearly identified with the following information:

4. Top of image indicated |
All entry packets must be received no later than June 1, 2010.
The packet must include the completed entry form, CD/slides or DVD/video clips, an artist statement (300 words or less), and a self-addressed stamped envelope to ensure return of slides or video clips. Mail packet to:

ACCEPTED ENTRIES/ SHIPPING
Entrants will receive detailed shipping and delivery instructions upon notification of acceptance. All work must remain available through October 15, 2010. For publicity purposes, the CBCRP reserves the right to photographic reproductions of all selected work.
Artists are responsible for delivery/shipment of their work to and from the selected Bay Area shipping company. Professional art handlers will be involved in the packing, shipping, storing and handling of art works.
LIABILITY
Due care will be taken to provide for the professional handling and safety of the work. California Breast Cancer Research Program staff, assigns, or curator are not responsible for any loss or damage to the work.
SALES
No items are offered for sale; artists’ contact information will be made available to visitors in a portfolio notebook.
