Intraductal Conference Announcement

The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation received a CBCRP Joining Forces Conference Award to help support their 4th International Symposium on the Intraductal Approach to the Breast on March 10–13, 2005, at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort in Santa Barbara, CA. The conference is being organized to determine the benefits and limitations of the intraductal technique. One of the conference’s primary goals is to foster crossdisciplinary partnerships between researchers in different fields and collaborations between researchers and advocates. Opportunities for pilot grant funding will be available at the symposium. You can find additional program and registration information at www.susanlovemdfoundation.org/html/Symposium_2005.html.

Breast Art Exhibit—in Appreciation

The CBCRP recently exhibited our newly acquired collection of breast art at the UC Davis Design Museum. The exhibit is unique collection of personal artwork from women and men whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. At the opening of the exhibit we convened a panel of scientists and artists to discuss how art and science enlighten us about the impact of breast cancer. We would like to thank Sarah Mayhew, Joyce Belluomini, Janine Giesi-Davis, and most particularly our guest curator, Kate Collie, for their insights and contributions to The Art of Healing Breast Cancer: A Union of Science and Design exhibit. The exhibit is available for display at events and galleries. Contact Brenda Dixon-Coby at brenda.dixon-coby@ucop.edu for more details.
