Seven art exhibits were displayed at the 1997 California Breast Cancer Research Symposium. The presentations included quilts, photodisplays, framed works and breast art. All of the exhibits were by, about, and/or dedicated to women with breast cancer. In one of presentations, The Breast Art & Education Project or “Breast Art”, consisted of breast cancer survivors wearing the work, and in a moving lunchtime ceremony disclosed their stories as well as the stories of the pieces of art they chose to wear. All of the artwork touched the participants and kept them mindful of the mission and the driving force behind the Breast Cancer Research Program.
